Hey Mr.T and my classmates! ok, here's my homework response thingy...

One of the questions being asked of the Presidental candidates was "Where do you stand on the financial recovery plan?" (the bailout plan), and "As President,...What are you going to give up in terms of priorities...as a result of having to pay for the financial rescue plan?" Most of the questions were about the bailout plan. During the VP debate, a few of the questions asked were (in my own words) When the bailout plan was passed, was it the best of Washington, or the worst of Washington? and What promises regarding the bailout plan have you made that you will be able to keep?
During the debate, I learned that both presidental candidates support the bail-out plan. But while McCain says that the fundamentals of our economy are sound, Obama says that are not. I would have to agree more with Obama about that. I think that Wallstreet and we, as Americans, are in big trouble. If there continues to be so much foreclosure on houses, we could be heading towards another Great Depression.
Before this debate, I didn't really have an opinion. It wasn't that I didn't care, but I was still stuck between the two and I couldn't decide who I wanted to be President.
I can't really say that I've changed that much since watching the debate. I think one of McCain's major points was to limit America's spending. Apparently, we had used 3 million dollars of our tax money to study some type of bear. I would rather out tax money go to the schools, or something very important. However, at the same time, Obama (if I'm not mistaken) wants to use tax money to provide everyone with a healthcare plan, which i think is also important. So, again, I am in between. (It's a good think I am not voting this year...)So, if I can't say that watching the debate changed my mind, it certainly helped me to find where each candidate stands on the issue of the bail out plan.

A good majority of questions that were being asked were about the economy and about what they would do if they became vice-president. I learned that they both have a lot of work to do when one of them become vice-president and there running mate becomes president. President Bush is leaving office with a $ 53 Trillion hole that the next president will have to fix. I really did not care about the people running for president before the debate. But now realizing that they will be our president for the next four years, I am now trying to pay attention more to what they have to say. Thou my thoughts do not matter because I am not voting age, I am still trying to stay informed in the world. After all, the next election I will be able to vote. Overall the debates will not change my thinking of the candidates because I really have not formed a opinion towards any of the candidates, but I do think that If I was old enough to vote I would be paying a little more attention to the debates and be able to forum a better opinion of the candidates.

The questions that were being asked to the candidates of vice-president were basically about their future economical solution and the decision of whether reinforcing the troops in Iraq or making them retreat. I learned that Sarah Palin wanted to keep the troops in Iraq because she thought that making them retreat seemed to make America weak and a country that doesn't solve its major conflict. I also learned that Sarah Palin was a great supporter of John McCain where as Senator Biden was a supporter of Barack Obama. Biden criticized how McCain didn't know of a way to prevent the Wall Street Crisis, and didn't try to but Obama was ready for it and was trying to find a way. Before watching this debate, I never had ANY opinions about the candidates because I wasn't really interested much about the political side. I just read some news and understood their roles but never considered to have any opinions on them. My thoughts remained same after watching the debate, I didn't have any opinions about either of them and just learned their plans. I didn't like to have political opinions because it didn't seem so interesting to me. However, when I'm eligible to vote, I'll probably have interest and try to take one side whether democratic or republic and have reasonable opinions for each candidates. Right now, at my age, i'm not so interested in such complicated political views.

V/P Debate Response

Some of the questions being asked of the candidates were; What promises -- given the events of the week, the bailout plan, all of this, what promises have you and your campaigns made to the American people that you're not going to be able to keep? WHat is true and what is false about what we have heard, read, discussed, debated about the casues of climate change? Do you support, as they do in Alaska, granting same sex benefits to couples? What is your plan for an exit strategy in Iraq? and What's the greater threat, a nuclear Iran or an unstable Pakistan?
Some things that I learned from the V/P debate are their positions on each problem and question asked. I have learned that neither Gov. Sarah Palin or Sen. Joe Biden support gay marriage, what they want to do and what their opinions are about climate change, and about their plans for Iraq. I have learned that Sarah Palin plans on keeping all har promises made during the campaign. She promises she will carry out all her ideas and plans and make sure they are successful. I learned about their views on taxing, what s happening on wall-street, their opinions on education, what their weaknesses are, and much more.
I didn't really have an opinion about the candidates before the debate. I thought that Sarah Palin wasn't ready to be vice presiden and that Joe Biden was. I just based my opinion on whatever I heard from my parents. I didn't know anything about what they supported or what thay were going to do for our country but now I know much more.
The debate definetly changed my opinion of the candidates. I learned so much about what they supported and how they are going to help our country. Before saw the debate, I didn't think Sarah Palin was ready to take on the responsibility of a vice president. Now I know she has alot of plans to help our country and a lot of plans that would benefit us. I thought Joe Biden was always ready to become vice president and I still do. I am not sure which side I would take because on some topics I agree with Sarah Palin, on other topics I agree with Joe Biden, and on other topics both sides make good points so I agree with both.

This is my lovely homework. This is about the debate between Senator Barack Obama and Senator John McCain.

What questions were being asked of the candidates?
Some of the questions being asked of candidates for president is "Are you in favor of the recovery plan?" Obama favors the recovery plan and wants to start the recovery as soon as possible. McCain following Obama's answer agrees and wants to reward people who succeed and hold people accountable. Another question asked is "What do you see as the lessons of Iraq?" McCain proudly states that we are winning in the war in Iraq and voted to put more troops in Iraq. But, Obama says otherwise. He voted against it for many reasons. He didn't know how much it would cost and don't know what damage it may cause on relationships between America and other countries. Most of the questions was around finacial recovery and the war in Iraq, and Afgnanistan.

What is something you learned from this debate about each candidate?
Suprisely, this debate was quite interesting but LONG! I learned a lot of facts that I never knew before. Did you know that we spent over $600 billion on the war in Iraq and it's almost $1 trillion? Did you know that we give about $10 billion A MONTH because of the war? Did you know that we owe China about $500 billion? Did you know that $3 million of our tax money goes to a study of bears? Well, I didn't and now, I know.

Describe your opinion of the candidates before the debate.
Before this presidental debate, I voted [if I could] for Obama. I believe that what Obama wishes for the "new" America will come true. Obama wants everyone to recieve health insurance and I know some people that don't even have one. Obama also wants to reduce taxes and give the middle classes and lower classes more money to help them live there everyday life when McCain wants to support the rich and wealthy. Why support them when there are Americans that are that the edge of what society is today? I believe in change.

Will the debates, or did the debates change your opinion of the candidates? Why? Why not?
This debate didn't change my position of who I believe deserves to be president. I still say Senator Barack Obama. I believe that his judgement is correct and could improve America. This debate just gave me more facts about what he is planning/wanting to do if he were president. It's true that the middle class isn't getting a fair chare now a days. Main street IS paying for the greeds of the D.C. Also, Obama encourages education, and wants "college to be affordable".

-Michelle X

P.S. this took me FOREVER!

the biggest question asked in the debate, was "where do you stand on the financial recovery (the bailot) plan?" both senator barack obama, and senator john mccain support, the bailout plan. however, the dispute is wether they think that that the fundamentals of our economy are sound. john mccain believes that they are, but barack obama does not. i agree with obama on that, because our economy right now is garbage. this is the worst our economy has been since the great depression. the house forclosures are greatly increasing, and the new president-whoever that may be- has to find some way to recover from this terrible economic state that america is in. in the beginning of the election i was voting for Hilary Clinton, and after she dropped out, i had no opinion, because the candidate that i was for backed out. now, after watching the videos, i think that senator barack obama is the better choice. first of all, john mccain is sooooo old. we need a younger president with new ideas, and a good public voice. Barack Obama is one of the greatest speakers of all time, i think. he has what it takes to help our country advance, and move forward and out of this financial problem.

This is my homework on the Presidential Debate !* =]]

In the Presidential debate, one of the questions that were asked was "Where do you stand on the financial recovery plan(which is the bailout plan)?" Most questions were about the bailout plan like "Are you in favor of the recovery plan?" Obama said that he does favor the plan and he want to start the recovery plan ASAP. McCain also agreed with Obama and stated that he wants to hold people accountable and reward those who succeed. Also, most of the questions were also asked about the war in Iraq. Another question that was asked about the war in Iraq was "What do you see as the lessons of Iraq?" McCain supports the war in Iraq and votes to put more troops in Iraq since we are winning this war. But Obama disagreed with McCain saying that he is against it because he doesn't know how much this war costs and how it could damage the relationships between America and other countries.

I actually learned alot of interesting facts during this Presidential debate. I never ever knew that $3 million of our tax money went to a study of bear?! That's insane! Also, we spent more than $600 billion on the war in Iraq and we give about 10 million a month to the war??? I seriously did not know that and in my opinion, I think it's a waste.

To be honest, I really didn't have an opinion before the Presidential Debate because I wasn't into politics so I didn't know what Obama would do as President or what McCain would do if he was elected as President. I never knew their plans to improve America and their goals towards the war in Iraq and reactions towards the financial crisis going on.

After watching the debate, I learned alot on what Obama and McCain supported and what they would do as President and in my opinion, I would elect Senator Obama (if i was able to) because I do not support the war in Iraq like McCain does and I don't think we should send more troops to Iraq. I agree with Obama that continuing the war could damage the relationships between America and other countries and the war is very costly. Also, I like that Obama encourages educations and that college should be more affordable. Also I agree with Obama that middle class isn't getting a fair share these days and main street is actually paying for the greeds of D.C. In my opinion, Obama would make a better President than McCain and handle the financial crisis better.

I watched the Presidential Debate. During the debate, many questions were asked. Most of the questions had to do with the “bailout plan”, financial recovery, and the war. One of the questions was "Are you in favor of the recovery plan?" In response to this question, Senator Obama said that he is in favor of the plan and wants it to go into effect ASAP. Senator McCain is also in favor of the recovery plan, but his idea is to reward people who succeed and hold people accountable. Another question that was asked is “Do you think that the fundamentals of our economy are sound?” McCain believes that they are, but Obama disagrees. This question really made me wonder because why does McCain think this?! This is known to be the worst our economy has EVER been since the Great Depression!!!! How is it sound?! "What do you see as the lessons of Iraq?" was yet another question asked. Senator McCain claims that the U.S. is winning the war and that we voted to draft more troops to Iraq. Once again, Senator Obama strongly disagrees for many reasons. How much would it cost? How would it affect our relationships with other countries? This is what Obama questioned.

Before the debate, I really couldn’t care less about who was running and such, but most people I know did. I never really had an opinion before the debate on who I think should be the next president. Before, I wasn’t even really aware of what was going on! All I knew is that John McCain and Borack Obama were running. The thought of the debate really didn’t capture my interest at all, until I actually sat down and watched it. Although the next presidential debate I will not be able to vote (late birthday), I will probably be more interested and aware of what is going on. The debate really showed me what was going on.

Even though I have a better understanding as to what is going on, I still haven’t formed an opinion on whom I like. Some things I agree with Obama, others McCain. I want to stay informed of what’s going on, and I know of their “plans/ideas” if they become the next president of the United States. I won’t be able to vote until the election after the next election due to my late birthday, but I still want to follow along with the election.

Presidential Debate

There were many interesting questions being asked at the Presidential Debate, one of questions that stood out to me the most was "What do you think the likelihood is that there would be another 9/11 type attack on the Continental United States." Senator McCain said that He doesn't think that there would be because America is a lot safer now but we are far from safe. I a gree with what He said because we are a lot more protective in terms of security and terrorism.
During the debate, I learned that America owes money to China, about 600 million! Another fact that stood out to me was that this war is going up to about 1 trillion dollars! Thats A LOT of money. Also, 3 million of our tax money is going towards the study of bear! Honestly, we could put that money to better use.
My opinions of the candidates before the debate was not really a strong one. I didn't really know what they were about until the debate and I actually heard what they had to say.
No, the debate didn't really change my opinion on the candidates. I believe both Obama and McCain presented themselves very well at the debate, and at this point I dont even know what will happen in terms of who will be president. Its really anyones game at this point.

What questions were being asked of the candidates?

One of the questions being asked during the Presidential candidates debate was "Where do you stand on the financial recovery plan?( Which is also know as the bailout plan), and if president, What priorities would you give up in order to pay for the financial rescue plan?". DUring the Vice President candidates debate, something that was being asked was who's fault was it that the economy has such a large financial problem, and promises did the VP candidates make that they'll be able to keep about the bailout plan.

What is something you learned from this debate about each candidate?

After watching the presidential debate is seems as if in my opinion that McCain does not realize that we as Americans are in big trouble. The economy is in a large debt because people are out ther buying things they cant afford. Yes, it seems as if he cares but to me Obama is more aware as to trying to fix up this situation at steady rate. For the VP debate, i realized that when it comes to discussing issues, Palin always tries to find her way out of things, and plays the he-said- she said card, without thoroughly explaining it like Biden does. He shows both sides of the story and how even if Obama did for vote for something, then again McCain did also.

Describe your opinion of the candidates before the debate(s). If you didn't have an opinion of the candidates, please explain why. Will the debates, or did the debates change your opinion of the candidates? Why? Why not?

Before the debates i didn't really have a strong opinion on which candidate i feel best helps the economy and will do a great job within the next four years of their presidential/ VP terms. None of this presidential and politics never really interested me. I didn't care what was going on in the world up until i realize how in debt and poor our country will become if actions aren't taken immedietly.I never really took the time to learn about each person and how they will withhold our world. After reading the transcripts of both elections it helped changed my views on each candidate. For president i feel as if Obama would be a better president for America due to how he has presented himself in the debate and hwo well he touched up each topic. From what he said he knew what he was saying. For Vice president after i asked myself "Who will really improve our world for the next few years", I realized that Biden would be. Palins beliefs arent strong enough to persuade me. She argued a tad to much in the debate and each time Biden came right back to proove each statement incorrect or particially improper.

One of the most frequent asked questions was about the financial recovery plan. they were both asked how they felt about this situation and both of them support the bailout plan. there just questioning the fundamentals of our economy. senator john mccain thinks they are sound, but senator barrak obama disagrees. i would say that i would agree with obama because i feel that our economy isnt doing too well. and i feel that hes right about that and we need to find a way to fix all these problems. in the beginning of the election, i wanted barrak obama to win. to this day my choice didnt change. i thought that he would make a difference in america today. there would be a change and i think thats what america needs. when my parents talk about who there going to vote for, they always bring up that mccain has had skin cancer twice and it was the deadliest kind. i no i said that america needs change, but what if mccain were to die, and then sarah palin was our president, shes for hunting and shes pro life which means shes for abortions. if you think about it, teen pregnancy is something that is occuring more often these days. i would vote for barrak obama because i feel he would make america a better america

Some of the questions that were being asked dealt alot with the economy. Also, the bailout plan. Also, they were asked basicailly if they were elected what would they do? Not only that but they were also asked what is true and fales about what we've heard about the causes climate change.
Some things ive learned from this debate about each candidate is that both of the presidental candidates support the bail-out plan. Also that neither Governor Sen. Joe Biden or Sarah Palin support gay marriage. I also learned that they avoid answering questions, and focused more on discussing what they did to participate in the government. I learned all of their views on taxes, their plans for Iraq, and much more.
My opinions on the candidates weren't big. But, i new who i wanted to be president, and vice president. There are things that ive heard that i did not agree on. Alot of my opinion came from what ive heard when my parents, or family talk about it.
The debates definietly helped me understand more of what the candidates wanted. My opinion of who i wanted to win didnt really change, but I learned about why I didnt want the other candidates to win. The debates didnt change my mind, but helped me realize why i want Obama to win. I defiently dont agree with Sarah Palin on the abourtion situation, so that really made me not consider her being a good vice president. The debates made me realize that she does have some good ides, but i dont think she would be a good vice president.

One of the qustions that they asked at the presidential candidates debate was "where do you stand on the financial recovery plan?". One of the questions at the vice presidential debate was mostly about health care, climate changes and energy, also the Bailout plan.

During the debate i learned that both presidential candidates are suppoting tax cuts and the bail out plan.In the debate Obama said that we have to take care of Wall street but most of all Main street i agree with him. I learned that McCain was supporting the bailout as well.

I didnt have an opinion toward both presidential candidates. I think we just have to see who wins I really dont know who people should vote.

I dont think it will change my opinion. Now i know what each candidate will do for America and I know where they stand now to serious issues based on this significant debate.

Hey Everybody.

The Debates:

I watched the Vice Presidential debate from friday night and it got me thinking. The question were mailny based on the economic and social benifits that their running mate was basing their campaign on. The question the struck me the most was about the subprime lending meltdown. It wasn't the question of whose to blame for this meltdown, but rather the response from Governor Palin especially that struck me. From backround info. from various sources, I personally didn't like Govenor Palins views at first. When I first listend to her speech she was very anti-Israel and would do anything to win. Now after her very persuasive argument for this particular topic, it has given me a better view of John McCain's plan. Sarah Palin sounds very confident and ready to be the next Vice President. The debates gave me a little better knowledge of each candidates POV but I am still on one party becasue for the way I live my life, it sounds like a better plan. So I did learn that the canidates have the same issues to takle and are both capable. Also that they will get there in there own seperate and different ways. In January of '09 we will see if what they said was the truth and the tomorrow will be better than today.

One of the main questions being asked of the candidates was about our countries financial issues and the "bail-out plan". Both candidates are for it, which is obviously a good thing, if it can help our country. It was also good that they were both for gay marriage, because that's a big thing right now, and I think many people have an opinion on it. Personally, I would vote for Obama over McCain, because if anything happens to him, Sarah Palin will be our President, and I dont think she would benefit our country. She doesn't seem to have what it takes for such an important job. My opinion is still the same after watching the debate, so it didn't really change my opinion. Obama seems to be more educated on America's financial problems. Most people are going to base their decisions on that, because there's been talk of another depression, and we're in a very bad place if history repeats itself like that.
