The Progressive movement was a movement favoring or adovacating changes/reforms. The Populist movement was a moovement when all the farmers made a party where it would benifit the farmers. When all the farmers made a party where it would benifit the farmers. The Progressive movement was successful while the Populist movement was not because many people didnt like the Free Silver Policy that came with the Populist movement.
