2. Which nations were the first to colonize the Western Hemisphere?

3. Identify the areas of settlement of the following nations, and briefly describe why they settled there.

1. How did the rise of nation-states in Europe lead to exploration of the "New World?"

THE RISE OF NATION STATES LEAD TO THE EXPLORATION OF THE NEW WORLD BECAUSE THE PEOPLE WANTED TO NOT BE UNDER THE REIGN OF THE KING AND WANTED TO MAKE THEIR OWN GOVERNMENT.

2. Which nations were the first to colonize the Western Hemisphere?

THE NATION THAT FIRST COLONIZED ON THE WESTERN HEMISPHERE WAS GREAT BRITAIN, SPAIN AND MEXICO.


3. Identify the areas of settlement of the following nations, and briefly describe why they settled there.

a. the Dutch- TO MAKE A BETTER LIFE, TO BE MAKE MONEY AND TO BE WITH THEIR FAMILIES.
b. the French- " SAME AS ABOVE "
c. the English-" SAME AS ABOVE "

4. Explain the social, and political differences between the English Colonies.

THE SOCIAL AND POLITICAL DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE COLONIES WERE THAT SOCIALLY PEOPLE ONLY STAYED IN THEIR COLONY BUT GOVERNMENT WAS FOR ALL OF THE 13 COLONIES.

1. How did the rise of nation-states in Europe lead to exploration of the "New World?"
As the nation-states rose to power in Europe, the citizens lost most of their power over the country. Therefore, they could not handle the pressure of being controlled and sought out for lands that they would want to govern for themselves.

2. Which nations were the first to colonize the Western Hemisphere?
Spain, England, and France were the first ones to travel oversea to the West and colonize the lands there. Spain was the very first to conquer the North America and some parts of South America.

3. Identify the areas of settlement of the following nations, and briefly describe why they settled there.

a. the Dutch: Settled to the Eastern part of North America to escape the religious prosecution and they settled there because it was close.
b. the French: The French settled at the same as Dutch but the French didn't want to be overruled so they decided to sail out.
c. the English: The English settled near the same spot as well but they were being ruled by harsh policies of Britain and felt the need to be independent.

4. Explain the social, and political differences between the English Colonies.
The English colonies were pretty much about the same socially because they traded with each other and had to serve the same problem and settled for the same conflict.
Politically they were all being affected by government in Europe. Although many came from all over the country, they were all being controlled by Britain exclusively.

The rise of the nations lead to the exploration of the new world. People became fed up with the king and queen and wanted to come to a place where a new government that would benefit them best can be formed. The thought of being controlled made them annoyed.

The nation-states continued to increase in the amount of power they had in Europe ; then, the citizens actually lost most of their power over the country. Here it is shown that they could not handle the pressure of being controlled and called for lands that would allow them to govern themselves.

2. Which nations were the first to colonize the Western Hemisphere?

Nations to first colonize in the western hemisphere were France, Spain & England.

3. Identify the areas of settlement of the following nations, and breifly describe why they settled there.

A) The Dutch - To have a better life, escape the religious prosecution & because it was clsoe in location.
B) The French - Same as Dutch, but decided they needed independence.
C) The English - Same as above.

4) Explain the social, and political differences between the english colonies.

As Min stated, English colonies were basically the same socially because they traded with each other & settled for the same conflict. However, politically, they were also similar. They were all controlled by Europe's Gov't.

1. As the the nation-states increased in power, the citizens power decreased over the country. The king and queen basically had total control of their people, and the citizens didnt like the idea of being controlled, so they wanted to live in a place with a new government where they would have power and rights. That way, they could have a voice.

4. Like Min & Jenna said, the english colonies were same in social wise because they traded with eAchother and settled for the same conflict. POlitically, they were all controlled by the same government.

1. The rise of nation states lead to the exploration of the New World because citizens were stripped of their rights and power and wanted to start their own government.

ALL 3 NATIONS CHOSE TO SETTLE FOR A BETTER LIFE, MORE MONEY AND MORE OPPORTUNITY.

4. The English colonies were socially the same because they traded with each other and all had to deal with the problem of Native Americans and, and all colonized to be free and have their own government. They were also the same, because as Min said they were all being controlled primarily by Britain.

b. the French: Explored the Eastern coast and the Mississippi River.
c. the English: Settled along the East coast. Also wanted to escape harsh rulership and the British monarchy.
People came for better lives, more freedom, and because of joint-stock companies.

4.The English colonies' social and political differences were based on the disagreement of whether or not to separate church and state. Also, religious persecution led people to start their own colonies.

The rise in nation-states in Europe lead to the exploration of the "New world" because many nation states were based on religious views such as the Puritans and Quackers. The Kings of Europe tried to wipe them out or convert so the nation states traveled as a group started the US.

2. Which nations were the first to colonize the Western Hemisphere?

The First nations to colonize the western Hemisphere were the Spanish, Dutch, French and then later English.

a. the Dutch- New York and Middle Colonies.
b. the French- Mississippi River and to the East with Spain
c. the English- Whatever land their armies could take over.

The Social part was that many stayed within groups with common interest or thought ie. Catholics in Massachussets. Government wise depended in which colony you lived at the time. North was family oriented and South was on your own.

They wanted to be the best nation in world therefore, exanding their territories can help this process. So many nations settled in other lands across oceans to expand their belief and people.

2. Which nations were the first to colonize the Western Hemisphere? The first ever colonization in North America was made by the Vikings in the 11th century. They created 11 colonies. But at the end of 15th century, this colonies ease to exist. In 1492, Christopher Columbus wanted to prove that Earth is round and went on a journey. But, little did he know that he discovered America. The first conquest of those days were the Spanish.

3. Identify the areas of settlement of the following nations, and briefly describe why they settled there.
a. the Dutch The dutch's purpose to settle in America is that they wanted to get better trading routes for the country.

b. the French After the war with Spain, the French attempted in establishing a colony in Florida but failed. But, the reason why French wanting to come was to look for more resources for the nation's profit.

c. the English Some of the nation's people didn't want to be under the rule of the Queen in England. So, they left for being free from the loyalists. Also, some people didn't believe in the same religion as the people in England so, people also left for religous freedom.

4. Explain the social, and political differences between the English Colonies.Some of the English colonies left because of the ruling from the Queen. Many English people didn't apporve of that so, they left the nation politically. Others believed in a different religion that may but be respected in England like the other religions that were popular, so some feed to America pursuing religious freedom.
