Ok...here is my homework....:D

1) Why did the British change their economic and political policies towards the colonists from 1763 to 1775?

The British changed their economic and political policies towards the colonists because many of the colonies were unhappy with the taxes and acts being passed. Perhpas they could tell that the colonists were on the brink of rebellion and tried not to push them. The colonies were joining together and planning to work togther to boycott or protest, and I think Britain knew that.

2) Were the colonists justified in their response to the British policies?

I think that the colonists were partly justified in their actions. They were trying to be an independant nation and they couldn't do that with Britain taxing them all of the time. On the other hand, Britain payed for wars to win land for the colonists. The least they could do was pay some of the money back. Perhaps a little boybott or something would have worked, but dumping Tea in the harbor was a little over the top.

3) What groups were the colonists defending/neglecting in their revolt against the British?

I'm not really one hundred percent sure what this means. I know thatsome colonists followed Deism, which led to the revolution. I guess you could say that the Deists were included then. But I'm not too sure about the rest.... Mr.T what do you mean by groups? Colonies? Religious? Parties? I'm confused..... :(

Ok, so that was all of my homework (sort-of) TOOTLES!

2. The colonists wanted to stand by themselves but the British kept getting in the way.

Hi Mr. Tesler --

Why did the British change their economic and political policies towards the colonists from 1763 to 1775? Colonists were unhappy with the unfair acts being passed, and being heavily taxed. Also, this brought colonial unity because all colonies agreed about how unfair the British were being, so they joined totether to protest.

-Were the colonists justified in their response to the British policies? The colonists were somewhat justified in their repsonse to the british policies. How could the colonists be independent when they were continously being heavily taxed? However, britain payed for their land. So, they should be able to give some respect and pay back taxes.

- What groups were the colonists defending/neglecting in their revolt against the British? Well, many colonists like Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson, followed deism. Deists relied on the power of science rather than on faith.

Homework:
"Why did the British change their economic and political policies towards the colonists from 1763 to 1775? Were the colonists justified in their response to the British policies? What groups were the colonists defending/neglecting in their revolt against the British?"

The British had reasons for such absurd economic and political changes on the colonists. 1763 was when the French and the Indian war was over which then the land once belonged to French, would not belong to the British/Colonists. However, the Native Americans settling in such lands would defend their land against the colonists and the British. Many wars and fights have occurred because of colonists trying to take over the lands. Such as the Pontiac's War. Then British realized that too much money was being spent on trying to let colonists stay in the land. So they issued the Proclamation of 1763, which prevented the colonists from settling further to the west of the Applachian Mountains. The colonists' anger started to build up. They deserved that land because they have participated in the war as well, but they did not understand the British's attempt to prevent the colonists and the economy of Britain. Then many acts were issued due to British having to pay for the war costs. They already had taxing policies in England so they came to the America to ask colonists for tax in a unpleasant way. The Stamp Act made the colonists pay tax for EVERY legal documents. The Tea Act raised the tea prices for colonists to make the East India company survive their negative economic status. Quartering Act required all colonists to allow British soldiers in the colonies to be "quartered" or taken care of in their own homes. Colonists were mad at that act since they saw no reason for quartering because they did not need the protection from the French anymore; the war was over. Many other acts issued by British were an attempt to collect money and to regulate the colonists since they thought that colonists sought independence. However, I do not think that the colonists had much rights to rebel so harshly against the British. The British after all, is their mother country and have protected them against the French& the Indians in the war. Yet, the colonists did not seem to pay even a bit to compensate for British's protection. Instead, they rebelled by protesting, provoking, belittling and even throwing British tea in the water. Colonists may have deserved some fair treatment for the protection they did not need after the war but in most cases, colonists had no perfect reason to rebel. During the years of colonists' rebelling, the colonists of course defended themselves and patriots. However, they neglected and ignored the loyalists and the British. The example of neglecting, ignoring or belittling can be found in the Boston Massacre. The British soldier did nothing at first, but the colonist provoked and insulted the soldier which caused the soldier to react. Then the back-up soldiers called in were surrounded by mobs of colonists. Colonists' defending of their own kind can be showed from Boston Massacre as well. Paul Revere who claims to be a witness drew the picture of the event and wrote many articles of it. However, those did not show of any fairness but biased opinions of the colonists. The pictures showed the colonists unarmed and British lined up as if it was really a massacre.
British might have been fair on some occasions and colonists justified in some occasions. But both sides went too far against each other; taxing excessively, protesting, provoking, using violence to act against the protests and damaging the British economy.

1:1) Why did the British change their economic and political policies towards the colonists from 1763 to 1775?

Parliament's decision to control the colonies through taxes, trade regulations, and not allowing them self-representation in parliament fueled the fires of revolution. The colonists organized groups to discuss ideas for resistance. Great Britain, in an effort to lose these revolutionary thoughts, "repealed" the Townshend duties and weakened other importation acts. This lessened the colonist's negative thoughts and improved business.

2:2) Were the colonists justified in their response to the British policies?

Yes, the colonists were justified in their response to the British policies because they were unjustly forced to pay the debt gathered by Britain during the wars they fought. High taxes and regulations angered the colonists even more considering they had no representation in Parliament.

3:.3) What groups were the colonists defending/neglecting in their revolt against the British?

I would assume the colonists were neglecting loyalists. Other then that, you need to elaborate.

1. Britain changed heir economic and political policies towards the colonies from 1763-1775 because they wanted to have more control over the colonies. The colonies were furious about Parliament taxing them without representation, also issuing acts like the TOWNSHEND ACTS and their strict regulations which weakened the loyalty of the colonists to the British. The colonies were rebelling against britain and boycotted their goods and protested against taxes like dumping British tea into the harbor known as the BOSTON TEA PARTY. The colonies were slowly uniting together as one big country and rebelling against Britain that Britain saw this too so they began to take control over the colonies and enforce their power.

2. The colonies were kind of justified in their reactions to british policies because they wanted to have their equal rights as mankind and felt that Parliament didn't have the right to tax them or pass acts without having a say in it as well. And the colonies wanted to be one nation since they all wanted the same rights as everyone else. But in the other hand, Britain always protected the colonies during war and provided them with a strong professional army to defend them and the colonies didnt have to pay for it. I think they could return the favor back by paying some money to Britain as a thank you for defending them. And besides, I think that the Boston Tea Party was a little bit too radical and over the edge. Dumping tea into the harbor was a big deal and probably not necessary since the colonists could just boycott against British goods in a nicely manner.

3.The groups were the Patriots rebelling against Britain for independence from their mother country. They rebelled by boycotting british goods and protesting against taxation without representation. These Patriots, like Samuel Adams, influenced other colonists to develop anti british feelings toward the Crown.

1. British changed their economic and political policies because the colonists were angered with thenew taxes and laws. the colonists were angered at "no taxation w/o representation". the colonists were boycotting and rebelling. the colonists in my opinion were justified in their actions because the colonies aimed to be independent but the taxes were holding them back. but on the other hand, the taxes were small and the colonists should have helped pay off the national debt for the war. some groups that wererevolting the british were the continental congress. this group talked about how the colonists should be able to legislate for themselves. they also talked about the issues american colonists faced. they established a ocntinental army which later fought the british army.

Okay, here are the questions and answers:

1) Why did the British change their economic and political policies towards the colonists from 1763 to 1775?

The British changed their economic and political policies towards the Colonists during this time because the colonists were upset with the ridiculous acts being passed and the insane taxes they were forced to pay. All the colonies combined, and tried to fight the laws made by the British and protested/boycotted British goods.

2) Were the colonists justified in their response to the British policies?

The colonists were halfway justified in their response to the British policies. They knew that they deserved their rights, and felt that they shouldn't have to pay thee taxes/ follow the laws of the parliament without letting them have a say. The British were also somewhat justified because they took care of the colonies and created them, so it's about time that the colonists payed them back.

3) What groups were the colonists defending/neglecting in their revolt against the British?

Mr Tesler..? I agree with everyone else. I don't understand what the question is asking. Please elaborate and I'll be happy to answer it.

1. The British changed their economic and political policies towards the colonists because the colonists were upset about the taxes and new acts being passed.

2. I think that the colonies sort of justified their response to the British policies because they were trying to be independent but at the same time relied on their mother country.

3. The patriots were rebelling against the British because of the taxes they were supposed to pay for and all of the acts. They didn't want to pay and follow those acts which lead to the Boston tea party as a way to repeal the Sugar act.

The British changed their economic and political polices towards the colonists from 1763 to 1775 because they believed that it would help them to increase their control over the Colonists. The British believed that the colonists' disobedience towards the Parliament was unacceptable, and the taxes and acts imposed on the Colonists served as "punishment". The Colonists were justified in their response to the British policies. The COlonists claimed to be fighting for their Natural Rights, which the Parliament was slowly taking away from them. The Colonists defended the Patriots in their revolt against the British, because the Patriots were fighting for independence, and independence was exactly what most Colonists wanted.

1. The British had to change there political and economic views because England saw that they were slowly losing control of the colonies. The colonist were upset with the mother country's new taxes.

2. The colonists were somewhat justified with the actions that they took because they still relied on the mother country, but at the same time, they were trying to pull away.

3. Sorry, but I have no idea what this question is asking, I wish that I could answer this, but like a lot of my classmates, I have no idea.

HOMEWORKKKK! :]

Why did the British change their economic and political policies towards the colonies from 1763 to 1775?

The french and indian war's purpose was so the colonies could expand land westward of North America. Therefore, the mother country supported them with money, troops and equipments to help them fight against the French for the land. In 1763, the war ended the colonies got want they desired but this resulted that the British was in major debt. To pay it off, the British wanted the colonies to pay for taxes that they charge and hopefully, decrease the amount of owage. The colonies were outraged by all the acts thrown by them because in the colonist view, they believe that the british was threating them. This made thoughts of independence in the colonies. The British changed the policies to prevent independence.

Were the colonist justified in their response to the British policies?

I believe that the colonies had no right to rebel. As been said many times, "Colonies exist to benefit the mother country", so when your mother country is in need, you should always be there to help or do what you can especially after the mother country won them most of the north america land. Even though the taxation was over the top, the colonies should at least show some respect.

What groups were the colonists defending/neglecting in their revolt against the British.

Huh? Uhmm, I think the colonists were defending themselves and neglecting the British. The colonists was angry of all the taxtation without representation. They showed their anger by rebelling, protesting and boycotted British goods.

1. The British changed their economic and political because they realized that the colonists were unhappy with the situation that Britain was putting them in. The colonists were starting to rebel against England, and the British saw it coming so they decided to back off.

2. The colonists may have overreacted a little but they were mostly justified in doing so. Even though Britain helped them out with the war, they were taxing the colonies without their consent, which wasnt fair to the colonies.

3. One group that led a big revolt was the Sons Of Liberty. These men lef the Boston Tea Party, which was a major event that showed the colonists' anger towards Britain.

1. Why did the British change their economic and political policies towards the colonists from 1763 to 1775?
The British changed their economic and political policies towards the colonists from 1763 to 1755 because the colonies were angry about the Townshend Acts being enforcced on them. Since the colonies refused to pay the taxes, Britain realized they weren't going to make money and they were the ones who would suffer so they had to change.

2. Were the colonists justified in their response to the British policies?
I think that the colonists were justified in their response to the British policies because they got what they wanted. The colonies wanted to be independent from Britain and because they rebelled, they got what they wanted. They got more freedom and were more idependent from Britain.

3. What groups were the colonists defending/neglecting in their revolt against the British?
The groups the colonists defended were the patriots and they neglected the British (red coats) in their revolt. The patriots were fighting for freedom and independence which is exactly what the colonists wanted.

2. . COlonist did overreacted a little bit, but once Britain stopped helping them after the war ended, they began taxing colonist, taxation without representation. They had to show their feelings some how. ANd since Britain did not want to listen to what they say they dumped tea into the harbor and began tarring and feathering etc.

3. The Sons of Liberty was one of the groups that led to a massive problem. This group led to the Boston Tea PArt. This event was a major one. The Boston Tea PArty let all of the tension the colonists had when the dumped 342 chests of tea into the Boston Harbor

1. The reason the British changed their economic and political policies towards the colonists was because they new the colonists were very upset with with all the acts being passed and the taxes. Also, i tihnk the British were afraid that mabye the colonists were planning another rebellion.

2. I think that the colonists were somewhat justified in their respones to the British policies. They felt that they coudnt have been independent with British taxing them all the time. Although, Britian Britian payed for their land, and wars, so they did deserve some respect back from the colonists.

3. The groups that the colonists were defending/neglecting in their revolt against the British might have been the Son of liberty.

2. I think they were somewhat justified because they were giving them unfair taxes, but the British were also partly right because, they have been helping them grow and it would be nice if the colonies repaid them... they Do exist to benefit the mother country...

3. The sons of liberty led them towards revolution. The sons of liberty led the Boston tea party which was very important because it showed their anger towards the British and their taxes.

Hey!!

1)The British changed their economic and political policies towards the colonists from 1763- 1775 because the British had just fought in the 7 years war or French and Indian war and they needed money. They were flat broke. The British thought who better to give us money then our loving colonies. So they started to tax and restrict where the colonists wen't. Now the colonists after the war felt they were becoming more independent and so when the British started taxing they were angry.

2)In some ways the colonists were justified in their response to the British policies. For rebeling against things such as Tea, Stamps and Sugar, esentials during that time, that would be a good reason to rebel. Like today if the government made a tax on the Internet. Some things like the Boston Massacre, there was not even a need for that to happen.

3)The groups that the colonists were defending/ neglecting was that of Denism. Denism is when a person relies on the power of science rather than on faith. British were very "faithful" people. They followed the bible strictly. While as the colonists during this time were starting to realize that science has a point.

That is my HW!
