Post APUSH Exam Assignments

Hello, All:
The APUSH exam is over!  However, there is still much work to be done.  For some of us, that means preparing for the Regents exam.  For others, it's more in-depth, independent study of a variety of exciting, interesting topics in American History.  We will have time in class, and outside of class to work on these assignments.

IF YOU STILL NEED TO TAKE THE REGENTS EXAM...
Assignment #1 - The Amendment Mini Project.  CLICK HERE for the link.  Follow the directions carefully.  Watch the videos, and complete the assignment as directed.

Assignment #2 - Supreme Court Mini-Project.  CLICK HERE for the link.

Assignment #3 - The Flash Card Project:  CLICK HERE for the link.

DUE DATE: June 7, 2017.

IF YOU ARE NOT TAKING THE REGENTS EXAM: Choose any THREE (3) of the following.

Option #1:  Read the eBook, LEGACY.  Legacy focuses on Lt. Col. Norman Starr of the U.S. Army, his wife, Nancy, and his West Point buddy-turned lawyer, Zach. It’s the weekend before Norman is set to testify before a Senate committee looking into the Iran-Contra affair. Norman’s clean on Iran but not on Central America. If he speaks the truth when asked about his activities helping the Contras, Norman will likely do himself some serious damage.

After reading the book, generate THREE guided reading questions (GRQ's) for each of the NINE chapters of the book.  Please provide answers to the questions that you develop.

Option #2:  Write one of the final chapters for the Legacy novel. The novel  wraps up the Starr family's story in the late 1980's. Your task is to develop a chapter around a new Starr family member anchored in  key events from American history between 1990 and 2017

OPTION #4: Images That Defined America.
Since its invention, photography has provided a window into the events that have changed the course of our nation.  Images are seared into America’s collective memory and chronicled our nation’s progress and struggles during an era of rapid change.

Your task:  Choose TEN images from The 50 Most Powerful Pictures In American History and then provide a 150 word summary explaining your choice.
