3. Take notes on slides 1-8 of the presentation below.  (10 minutes)



4.  CLICK HERE.  Using the information contained in the documents, your notes, Chapter 12 of the Amsco book, your GRAP (if you have it), and your knowledge of US History, complete the questions that follow ("Questions to Think About").  Please complete these in your classwork section, and turn them in, BEOP (by the end of the period).   (25 minutes)

5.  Exit Slip:  Based on what you've read, and what you've studied...What is your reaction to the concept of "Manifest Destiny?"  Was the US justified in following this policy?  Explain.  You may leave your answer in the comments section, or you can include it with your work above.   (4 minutes)

Please note that you, the student, are responsible for printing out any worksheets related to the assignments given, and are also responsible for handing in your work on time.  Late assignments, with the exception of a legal absence from school will not be accepted.

PLEASE PACE YOURSELF!!! Do not wait until the last minute to complete assignments.  Also, do not try to cram everything in, so you won't have anything to do the rest of the week.  Reading, and annotating 4 pages per night will be more than adequate.  

MONDAY NIGHT:  Complete the Chapter 12 GRAP for TUESDAY.

TUESDAY: 
Print out, and complete the "Thematic Essay Planning Page."  You must bring the planning page with you to class, on Wednesday, as you write your thematic essay on antebellum reform movements.

WEDNESDAY: DUE TUESDAY 11/29. 
1.  Watch and take notes on the video below.   Here is a slideshow to help you.  These notes will go in your test prep section.  

2.  Watch the video below, and complete the attached worksheet. 

3. Read, and annotate Chapter 12 of the AMSCO TEXT. 

4. Complete the Chapter 12 GRAP.

Election 2016 - What is Your Reaction?

Carefully read the article “Donald Trump Is Elected President in Stunning Repudiation (rejection) of the Establishment." 

After reading the article, please respond to the following questions, by leaving comments on this post.  You can respond to each question, individually, or respond in a paragraph form to all of them.  

— How did you feel when you learned the results? Were you surprised? Excited? Angry?

— What does a Trump victory mean, for you and your community and for America? What effects will a Trump victory have on issues you care about?

In a speech last night, Mr. Trump stated, “Now it’s time for America to bind the wounds of division,”  “It is time for us to come together as one united people. It’s time.”

Do you feel the country will come together as one united people after this divisive election? What can Mr. Trump do to heal the “wounds of division”? What can our government leaders do? What can we do?

Here is your assignment for November 3rd, 2016.

1.  If your team has not finished your GRQ's, you must finish them BEOP, today.

2.  If you are finished with the GRQ's, move on to the "Era of Good Feelings" DBQ.  You will be working in very similar fashion to the way you completed the GRQ's.
