HW Week of 10/1/12

Hello, APUSH'ers:

Here are your HW assignments for the week.  Unless specified otherwise, homework is due no later than the next class meeting.  Missed assignments can only be made up if a student does it during their lunch period, or after school on Wednesdays.  All assignments must be accompanied by a parent's signature or credit will not be given for the assignment.

We will be working on Chapter 6 this week.  In this chapter, we'll learn about the French and Indian War.  This conflict, in many ways led directly to the American Revolution.  We'll also be doing things a little bit differently this week, as we'll work on GRQ's and ID's in class, and doing most of our lecture work at home; in essence, "flipping" the classroom.

Here's an audio link to Chapter 6!

  • Why did most Indian peoples fight with the French against Britain and its American colonists in the French and Indian War?
  • Explain why Britain’s success in defeating the French empire led to failures in dealing with its colonial subjects.
  • 6. What did the French and Indian War reveal about Britain’s fundamental attitudes toward its North American colonies. How did the British view of the colonists differ from the way the colonistsunderstood themselves and their identity?
  • When the Seven Years’ War (French and Indian War) began, most American colonists were extremely proud and happy to be British citizens, part of the world’s greatest empire. When it ended many of them no longer felt that way, even though the British Empire was more powerful  than ever. Why?
FRIDAY NIGHT:
Review your notes for a quiz Tuesday, or Wednesday on Chapter 6
