South was damaged and there was a debate due to who would rebuild it.
There also was a debate overe what they should do with the slaves because there was so many of them and they had nothing, no homes, and no money.
Blacks were given citizenship.
Johnson tried to stop the registration but the congress were able to overwrite his vetos.
Republicans believed that the President and Vice President should be removed from office.
Johnson dismissed the secretery of war when he heard he could of been removed.
