HW Assignments Week of 1/31/17

Hello, APUSH'ers:
Here are your assignments for the week of 1/31/17.   Please note that you, the students, are responsible for printing any materials related to your HW assignments.  Late assignments will not be accepted, with the exception of a legal absence from school.

This week, you will have a choice.  You can choose one of the following options, or BOTH for extra credit.

OPTION 1: Complete the reading and GRAP for Chapter 21 of the AMSCO APUSH review text.  

OPTION 2:  Read Chapter 28 of The American Pageant, and complete the GRQ's for the chapter. 

MONDAY NIGHT 1/31/17: 
1.  Watch and take notes (here's the slideshow). 

2. Watch and complete the attached worksheet. 

If you are using the AMSCO book...

3.  Begin reading pp.  431-433 of the AMSCO APUSH Review Book (Chapter 21)

4.  Complete the first page of the GRAP (now in google docs format!)   If you prefer the PDF version, click here.  The GRAP actually starts on page 6. 

If you're using the American Pageant, here are the GRQ's

TUESDAY:
Using Chapter 28 of the American Pageant, identify the Key Terms, and People to Know on page 726.  

Continue working on the GRAP, or GRQ's.  

WEDNESDAY/THURSDAY:
Finish the GRAP, or GRQ's, to be handed in on FRIDAY. 

FRIDAY NIGHT:
Finish the "Station Assignment" we started in class, today.

Here is your assignment for today.

1.  Carefully examine the picture, New York City, 2013.  Based on the picture, write a list of details they notice. What do the details tell you about life in NYC?

2. Click here for the document packet on Urbanization.  Carefully study each document, and then answer the scaffolding questions that follow.

After you answer all of the scaffolding questions, complete the following exit ticket...

1.  Based on the documents, identify THREE reasons for the growth of cities.    Cite specific evidence from the documents to support your claim.

Classwork 1/6/16 - Labor Unions

Focus Question:  To what extent did reform movements address the problems facing various groups of Americans?

For this lesson, you will be asked to analyze a series of primary source documents, relating to the formation of labor unions.   You will answer the scaffolding questions that follow each document, as well as the review sheet, "Labor Unions at the Turn of the Twentieth Century."  Be sure that when you answer the questions, you are citing evidence from the documents.
